2009 HILL CUMORAH PAGEANT CONCESSIONS:

Every year, our club, along with other local Rotary and Lions clubs, provides food concessions for the Hill Cumorah Pageant on State Route 21 in the Town of Manchester. The Hill Cumorah Pageant is the largest, annual, outdoor "Passion Play" in North America, and truly must be seen to be appreciated. Skip the fast food, and stop by our tent for a Sausage with Peppers and Onions, or even a full Chicken Dinner!

2009 Performances: July 10,11,14-18

WILD WATER DERBY:

This year's event was held on April 25 and 26, 2009.  We had great weather this year and a good crowd turned out.   Our thanks to the MS Lions club for their help, and to all our many customers!

Click on the link to the official Wild Water Derby Website for more information on this fun, family oriented activity. Hope to see you all again next year!

Remember, we serve genuine ZWEIGLES Hots!

NYS ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY ROADSIDE PICKUP:

Our club's spring, NYS Adopt-A-Highway roadside pickup was completed on Saturday, May 9.  We collect trash along a 2.2 mile stretch of State Route 96, from Kyte Road, to County Road 28, West of the intersection of 96 & 21.

We meet at the Coffee Shoppe in Manchester at 8:20 a.m. to prepare. Come early if you want a Breakfast Sandwich!

COMMUNITY BIRTHDAY CALENDARS:

Each fall, the Twin Cities Lions Club compiles, prints, and sells the "Community Birthday Calendar" for the villages of Manchester and Shortsville. Accompanied by a photograph that often highlights local history, the calendar features the Birthdays and Anniversaries of our villages' residents.

If you would like to order a copy, or add your family's special events to our calendar, please contact any member of the Twin Cities Lions Club.

Every holiday season, Twin Cities Lions Club members help those less fortunate in our community by "Ringing the Bell" for the Salvation Army's "Red Kettle Campaign" outside of Bliss' Grocery Store.

If you see us ringing the bell this year, please be generous with your change. The Salvation Army makes every effort to ensure that your donation remains local to help your friends and neighbors!

COMMUNITY BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT:

The "Twin Cities Holiday Classic" is an annual basketball tournament sponsored by the Twin Cities Lions Club, and held every year at the Red Jacket High School on State Route 21, in Shortsville, New York, during the Christmas recess.

The 2008 annual Lions Club Community Basketball Tournament was held this year on Monday, December 29th and Tuesday December 30th. at the Red Jacket Central School's Main Gymnasium.

The participating School Districts last year were:

  • Red Jacket
  • Cato Meridian
  • Clyde Savannah
  • Hammondsport

While the Red Jacket Varsity lost in the final game to Cato-Meridian, we certainly all enjoyed this year's exciting tournament.  Our thanks to all the schools who participated, and all the Community members and fans who came out to see our young athletes in actions!

Directions: Take the NYS Thruway to Exit 43, Manchester. Turn right on Route 21S and proceed through the intersection of State Route 96. The High School is on the right after the rail road tracks, just opposite the American Legion Hall. The Gymnasium is on the South side of the school.
